Graphics are very nice, and the characters and theme are appealing. The direct instruction provided by narration and animation is also very good. The program is flawed, however, in terms of design. It is not always clear how to get from one place or activity to the next, and some of the activities themselves are unintuitive to play-- children (and reviewers!) don't know what to do. Plan on lending your child a helping hand when they get stuck. Additional program features include printable progress reports and study words, plus a skill practice mode.
