But it will not have the needed "Know How" in visual aides to help you do this effortlessly. I have used this method countless times to recover files for friends and family. I recall one time I went to a friends house with nothing more than an external hard drive, XP Pro OEM Disk, and my trusty ole PClinuxOS CD. They had high speed internet but were complaining they could'nt get on the Internet. I plugged in my external thinking that I could just retrieve their files and then set it back up. It was extremely slow, 5 minutes just to open an explorer  browser. Nothing doing, it took forever to access the files they wanted saved much less copy them over. So inserted my Trusty pclos Cd into thier Dell and off I went. Checked thier internet, it worked fine, just as it should. So i used the  live Cd to transfer their stuff over then used it to wipe thier drive. Then I inserted XP pro and off it went. From Non-functional to reinstalled with updates including SP3 and restoring thier files I was in and out in 1 hour and 35 min. Most of which was spend on placing thier files back in their proper places, and waiting on updates. Much better than the hours and evenings spent doing it the hard way.There is no risk to your hard drive as this is a live CD, meaning it runs solely from your CDRom Drive and uses your Ram as its hard drive. Thus, you can reboot and have no ill effects on your present operating system. This auction is not to sell you PCLinuxOS, that is free.
