Description
Get the lateset version of Ubuntu Linux on a 8GB USG flash drive. This USB is setup so that any changes you make are saved on the USB stick. That means you can take your work with you and plug into any PC and be up and running with all of your documents and setttings. The stick is formatted with Ubuntu 8.4.1 desktop version on the first partition, leaving 7.2GB availble to store your changes. An installer is included if you decide to intall the system on a hard drive. Ubuntu is the easiest Linux yet. You don't need to have any Unix knowledge to use this system. It is truly plug-and-play. It's actually easier to use than Windows. A complete suite of free applications is included. Open Office can read and write Microsoft format files so your system can be used productively right off of the stick. Firefox 3.0.1 is also included so you can start surfing right away. F-Spot is installed on the stick. This full-featured photo software supports uploading from your camera and your phone. Great for organizing your photos. Also included is Rhythmbox. This program allows you to connect to thousands of Internet radio stations and free music stores. There are many video players installed including Totem. The Synaptic Package Manager gives access to literally thousands of free downloadable applications.
